About Malia
Malia is a dynamic resort town on the north coast of Crete, about 34 km east of Heraklion. The town is best known as the island's 'party capital', with its famous bar street attracting young people from across Europe.
Beyond the vibrant nightlife, Malia also offers excellent beaches with golden sand and shallow water, perfect for swimming and water sports. Along the beach you will find a wide range of bars, restaurants and activities.
The town also boasts a rich history — the Minoan Palace of Malia, within walking distance of the town, is one of the most important archaeological sites in Crete.
